Hello
I have been trying to work with Oeyvind Brandestag's Improsculpt on my laptop which predicated me switching to csound5.13 for what i was trying to do. Unfortunately it has adversely effected my CsoundForlive .amxd files. MOST of them open no problem except
for George Zuccos' fabulous Hidrae max for live patch. It seems to be the only file that will not run when i switched form Csound6.01/Max6.1 and csound~ by steven Yi to csound 5.13/csound~v1.10 and max6.1 all on mac. i get an error that it will not compile
csoundCompile() failed
does anyone have it working with csound5 and ableton?
I would really like to continue to use this instr
thanks!

I also found that that XQuadScanned also gives me an error. Out of all the Csound4 live patches Hidrae and XQUadScanned do not compile inside of Ableton live, XQuad gave me an issue
even in Csound6 with Steven Yis Csound~ object wher i would have to turn off Reverb for it to work and choose another scans trajectory to get ot to make sound. Is there any way to contact George Zucco to see if he is willing to modify Hidrae and XQuadScanned
so they work with Csound5? then i would actially have a full suite of csound Tools working inside of Ableton Live which is VERY appealing and will help out quite a bit. i have attached it here hoping for some assitance if anyone else wants to give them a try.
I had csound6 but had to switch to csound5 for FLTK reasons related to Oeyvind's Improsculpt
help if you can
thanks!

It also seems a reasonable approach would be to make ImproSculpt run under Csound6, could you give some more details about what problems you have with Improsculpt and FLTK under Cs6? (I assume it is the ImproSculpt 'classic' version then?) best Oeyvind 2013/11/16 Pagano, Patrick |

i will have to re-install it and check. Is there a way to safely run Csound5 and Csound6 on the same machine? I was getting a problem with csound6 and csound~.mxo with some bundle error so i got everything back up nd running except for as i said hidrae and vocalese for M4L patches. Improsculpt is working on 10.8 with csound 5.13 I will try to install the csound6/StevenYis Csound~ and see what shakes on another machine, but as it is i am reticient to change again pp Patrick Pagano B.S, M.F.A Audio and Projection Design Faculty Digital Worlds Institute University of Florida, USA (352)294-2020 ________________________________________ From: obrandts@gmail.com [obrandts@gmail.com] on behalf of Oeyvind Brandtsegg [oyvind.brandtsegg@ntnu.no] Sent: Sunday, November 17, 2013 3:28 AM To: Csound mailing list address Cc: Richard Boulanger Subject: Re: [Csnd] It also seems a reasonable approach would be to make ImproSculpt run under Csound6, could you give some more details about what problems you have with Improsculpt and FLTK under Cs6? You can install both on the same machine as long as the environments are different. That is, nothing related to Csound 6 should show up in Csound 5's PATH environment variable, and vice versa.
You can set up Windows batch files to open a command shell with the environment variables that you require. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, I'll explain in more detail here.

Sorry, I see that you are on OS X and I am talking about Windows. But the same principle will probably apply somehow. -----------------------------------------------------
