Hello, I'm still running the old but very stable OSX 10.6 and I was thinking about changing to 10.9. I've heard that most programs run faster and without major problems. So the question to the developers: is there any plans in the near future to make a OSX installer for 10.9? Thanks, Luis ____ http://luisantunespena.eu |

Hi Luis, I think the 10.8 installer should work on 10.9 just fine, or, at least, that would be our plan. We had recently modified the build of Csound so that it compiles for a minimum of 10.6, so it might be possible to use the 10.8 installer on 10.6-10.9, but we haven't done a big test of that. My own plan was to switch to 10.9 this week but I was debugging csound~ and there were recommendations to not move to Mavericks for Max/MSP, so I stopped on that. I'll probably move to Mavericks myself in a week or two, so any releases from me after that will be built on 10.9. I think ideally, we should really check if we couldn't have just one OSX build that is built for i386/x86_64 and works on 10.6-10.9. I think that would cover the same OSX Csound users we cover now with the two builds. If we try this though, we'd need help from users to test and report issues. steven On Sun, Nov 3, 2013 at 10:21 AM, Luis Antunes Pena |

Thanks Steven. I think I'll change next
week to 10.9 and I'll report to the list how the 10.8 installer
worked for me.

Hello,
a short report for those who think about installing Mavericks: I have installed Mavericks and the old Csound version 6.00.1 (double samples) Aug 6 2013 worked without problems. I then installed the last version Csound version 6.01.0 (double samples) Oct 20 2013 and it also worked. I run csound from the Terminal and from QuteCsound without any problems. Csound in MaxMSP also worked after reactivating the csound~ object in Max. I was not expecting such a smooth change! Great! Best, Luís Am 03.11.13 23:51, schrieb Luis Antunes Pena:

Hi Peinman,
I didn't tryed it, but actually the actual is no native 10.9 installer so csound 5 may also run, but I'm not sure about it. Best, Luis Am 08.11.13 12:20, schrieb peiman khosravi:
