Subject[Csnd] [ANN] RIB-Csound
I've spend the last few days hacking an open source framework called
Rapid Interface Builder for Csound. I've modified the original project
so that you can now build and bundle Csound packages directly. The
idea here is that you write a Csound instrument and then design web
page around it. When you have finished designing your page hit export
and RIBCsound will export a complete .zip file containing everything
need to run the Csound enabled site/web-app.

You can find a video demo here:
https://vimeo.com/80376134

And you can try it out here:
http://rorywalsh.github.io/RIBCsound/index.html

And you can fork the code from here:
https://github.com/rorywalsh/RIBCsound

I've only provided support for sliders, or 'range' widgets for now but
adding support for other GUI widgets shouldn't be so tricky. Please
fork it and notify me of any changes. The RIB app seems to be really
well put together and I think it could provide a really solid chassis
for a community driven web-enabled Csound IDE(perhaps we could call it
CsChromizone!) . I can see lots of potential here for sharing
instruments, adding modules, etc. Let me know what you think.

Rory.

I'll be checking this out for sure over the next few days. I'll let you know how I get on. Fits in perfectly with something I'm already doing so thank you for the work you've done!

Thanks

Hello Csounders:
I try to run RIB-Csound but I can not export the module. The page to create
the interface works fine. However when I tried to export the module the
command does not work.
I've used both Google Chrome and Appserv options.
In both situations I have used a batch:
1. start "" / d "C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Google \ Chrome \ Application \"
chrome.exe --allow-file-access-from-files --enable-file-cookies
--enable-nacl C: \ RIBCsound \ index.html
2. Start "" / d "C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Google \ Chrome \ Application \"
chrome.exe --allow-file-access-from-files --enable-file-cookies http: //
localhost : 8000 / ribcsound / index.html
Is there something I have forgotten?

No luck here either. And it seems that the project I based this little experiment on is also no longer working.
Sorry about that. I borrowed very heavily on the original project. So if it's not working, I've no real desire to try to fix it. But there are still loads of options available to you depending on what you wish to do. You could use any number of interface builders and then hook into Csound. It's not tricky if you know Javascript. Of course I'm assuming you wish to host your instruments online. If not then you could use CsoundQT or Cabbage to create lots of interesting interfaces for your instruments. Or you could use Python, or Lua, or GO, or Ruby, or C/C++...etc, etc.
