Hi all, It appears to me that once you create a pvoc file with PVANAL, there aren't any utilities within Csound or its suite of apps for either getting stats or graphing FFT spectra. Am I mistaken? One particular thing I'd like to do would be to find and separate out the N loudest bins, so I can use 'pvread' output as a kind of organic controller for oscillators or samples, etc. Has anyone done this, have tips for doing this, or do I basically have to just fire up Python and start scripting my own little application to mine this data from a raw pvoc file? -- Best, Aaron Krister Johnson http://www.akjmusic.com http://www.untwelve.org |

Hi Aaron - i did something like this. it's attached; you may have a look if you find something useful for you in it. best regards - joachim Send bugs reports to the Sourceforge bug tracker https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=81968&atid=564599 Discussions of bugs and features can be posted here To unsubscribe, send email sympa@lists.bath.ac.uk with body "unsubscribe csound" Am 23.07.2010 um 20:57 schrieb Aaron Krister Johnson: > Hi all, > > It appears to me that once you create a pvoc file with PVANAL, there > aren't any utilities within Csound or its suite of apps for either > getting stats or graphing FFT spectra. Dear Joachim, This FFTool of yours is very inspiring and interesting. I have been working with it all morning and enjoying some of the other related "examples" that are now offered with QuteCsound. I hope you will share more of your work in this area with all of us.
It would be great to see what you do with this data - your instruments for re-synthesis or cross-synthesis. Already, these are wonderful models for all of us. Thanks,
Richard Boulanger
