[Csnd] Stripped down Csound build from CVS for Windows

Subject[Csnd] Stripped down Csound build from CVS for Windows
Hi all,

There's been some interest in the stripped down Csound build I use for
QtCreator so I put the project files and tools in a standalone build
and added some batch files for convenience. It can be downloaded at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/miqt/files/csound-for-qtcreator.zip/download

It is bare bones, but let me know if you would like something added to
it and I'll see if it can be done without too much hassle.

Cheers,
~ andy.f

Is it windows only?

Yes, it is Windows only, afaik. It may work on Macs without too many
changes, but the extra targets and binaries I put in to simplify
things will only work on Windows. Someday I'll have a Mac to play
with =)

I didn't bother testing it out on Ubuntu because I figure it easy
enough to compile Csound as-is on Linux platforms. Compiling it on
Windows can be a big hassle, though. With this project, compiling is
as easy as downloading Qt/QtCreator, running a couple of included
batch files, and then using the .pro files to build. It is very
convenient, especially for Windows users that would like to have a
version of Csound built from CVS.

Cheers,
~ andy.f

This kind of thing would be useful for debugging using QtCreator on
any platform...
If it works on Linux, it will probably work or require minor changes
to work on OS X.

Andrés

That is a good point. I will see what is required to get it working
on my Ubuntu setup.

Thinking more on this, it would probably be a better use of time to
get a CMake build started, as Steven Yi suggests. QtCreator has
support for CMake project files and from what I understand,
Trolltech's is moving away from qmake towards CMake.

Yes, I agree doing all that work for Qmake is not worth it, and it may
even not work.
I don't know about Cmake, but it would certainly be a massive task,
also to ensure it works properly on all platforms...
