Registered users can now add their own (created with csound) music to
the csounds.com podcast!

Please add a brief description of the track and possibly one or more
tags to specify the genre(s) (each genre becomes a tag and can be
subscribed to as a podcast individually).

Attachment should be a single mp3 file (<10Mb).

The url to browse the podcast is http://www.csounds.com/podcast. To
subscribe: http://www.csounds.com/podcast_feed.

Please, start populating it so that we can promote it on the sidebar! :-)

Cheers,

-c.

Great idea! Just to help get things rolling, I posted a track. Though at
the moment, nothing is showing up. I'm guessing there is an approval
process for each track. I'm looking forward to hearing all the
contributions.

The Podcast feed doesn't work yet. You must have an enclosure in the RSS feed
that is an MP3 file. Your enclosure
http://www.csounds.com/node/26#attachments is not an MP3 file, so most
podcasting readers can't find the MP3 file at that destination. You might
want to use Feedburner to generate the RSS feed instead of doing it your
self. It will check for those kind of errors.

Hi Prent,

are you sure you're using the correct url (which is /podcast_feed)?

The enclosure type is audio/mpeg which seems correct to me.

Best,

I tested it with various players and online podcast players/validators
and it works. It works from my ipod touch too.

What software are you using?

I subscribed using FeedDemon and the feed look good to me (and to
FeedDemon, which is now free, BTW). The enclosure URL I see is

     http://www.csounds.com/files/Modular Instruments Part II.mp3

which works, though it would be better if it was properly URL-encoded as
either

     http://www.csounds.com/files/Modular+Instruments+Part+II.mp3

or

     http://www.csounds.com/files/Modular%20Instruments%20Part%20II.mp3

Hi Nikos,

I understand you (I always provide my own music in ogg and flac, too),
but for better compatibility I think we should stick to mp3 for the podcast.

I added ogg for attachments in forum posts and personal blogs, though.

Cheers,

-c.
