| For composing, since for me that is almost always Python scripting, I use IDLE (which comes with Python), or SciTE which is a wrapper program for Scintilla, or Emacs, or programs that I write using Boa Constructor (which uses wxPython, which has the StyledTextControl, which is Scintilla again).
If I'm writing Csound code directly, I use SciTE.
I think I've written exactly one piece in all my time with Csound where I wrote out the i statements... and a few that I wrote with a sequencer or notation software... the other hundreds of pieces were generated by some kind of code I wrote.
