Holy $#it, that's a pretty lush sound for just a bunch of sine waves.
Nice work.

Hi Michael,

Enjoyed this very much! I noticed that the CSD is 11 megs long and
generated with blue. Any chance you'd be willing to share the .blue
project to add to blue's example pieces?

Thanks!

Sure thing Steven, I uploaded it here:

http://friends.kunstmusik.com/mbechard/files/Enyatamix.tar.gz

That contains the blue file, scripts, and spectrum files.

This reminds me of my first introduction to csound that ran
on a Sun Sparc in the 80's, although I was trying to render
orchestras of similar simplicity with a couple of hundred events.
I'd often leave the building while waiting to hear the results
of my latest changes.

Oh no, I hear the 'punched card' stories coming ;)

Great texture to the piece. You have delved into what
I was hinting at by proposing the 'challenge'. I love the
effect near the beginning where you seem to have simulated
a cymbal being aroused by padded sticks.

I know we only had a short time to do this, but I might say
that I missed a sense of journey, and a sense of accomplishment.
I do not assert however that a successful piece needs either one.

you know- i'd love to contribute to this, but it probably won't get
done for a few weeks [insane push at work].

and can we collect the audio/score files somewhere publicly accessible
[csounds.com forum]? or did i just miss the note about that?

it's [obviously] an inspiring challenge to many in the csound community.

Thanks. I did call for a lift of the [today] deadline. I indicated
that I should be able make some sort of website that does what you suggest.

Does anyone know of a good open source project that would lend itself
to this sort of sharing forum?

I was very impressed, too. Although I had the most surreal experience as I
listened to Michael's composition. I thought to myself, "How interesting...
he's combining this lush glissando stuff with a Chopin nocture!" Because
that's what I heard. Later I realized that ITunes was going at the same
time playing a Chopin nocture. Very surreal :)
