Dear community, after I've updated my system to ubuntu Jaunty-Jackaploe, I have larger latency times, when I play with realtime-midi in csound. I hope I can erase this problem. One of the first things, I want to try is to check, if I can better latency times, when I change the settings in Jack. Or does this have no influences on csound? Thanks for any help Stefan |

This may not pertain to what you are experiencing, but I remember upgrading a kubuntu box, and having existing real-time scripts exhibit poor performance. I don't know whether this applies to Jack, but my fix was to make sure that there were at least two powers of 2 between -b and -B. I used to make -B twice -b. Anyway, it used to work the other way, then it didn't. While researching the problem I found a few references to blame of the newer kernel that I got in the upgrade. Tobiah |
