after Peiman's recommendation I downloaded blue, and now have a hard  
time figuring the automaton graphs.
I did everything according to  pvoc.blue but can't get the timeptr go  
to 0 to 1. I've tried to turn the knob to different positions and the  
score starts from that value dialed in the knob. But the max value I  
get in the end of time is only abt, 0.06-0.22. Also how to reflect the  
time scale to the total_dur. All I got when zooming out is that the  
scale maxes out at 5 mins. I'd like to generate a sound say 10 mins  
set with total_dur but haven't figured out how to set the time scale,  
so that I'd be able to draw the ktimpt for different values. I've read  
the manual quite thorougly but seen no mention of this time scale  
thing, Setting total_dur gives correct length of the csd but the blue  
instrument as I said gives only very small values though I'd like the  
graph go from 0 to 1.

Hi Matti,

The timeline will expand in time with the objects in it.  If you click
on your soundObject and either drag it to the right or use the
soundObject properties dialog to set the duration to a time greater
than 5 minutes, the timeline should expand itself. (I just tested with
only using the soundObject properties dialog and it did not expand
itself, so after setting it with the dialog, click the object, drag it
to move it in time and it will expand the timeline.)

As for the automation graph, I'd have to look at the project, but most
likely you'll need to look at the instrument or effect for which you
are automating, find the widget that controls the time pointer, and
look at it's setting for maximum. If you need help with this please
