Mike,

With respect to the 'depends' output I just sent, the (perhaps critical?) 
shaded line reads:
LDR: LdrpWalkInputDescriptor() failed to probe C:\Program 
Files\csound\bin\portaudio_x86.dll for its manifest, nstatus 0x0150002.

Sorry about the font (throughout). It's what happened when I copied from the 
log.
