"Computer-Music" Bachelor-/Master's degree program at Institute of
Electronic Music and Acoustics, University of Music and Performing
Arts Graz

Starting in October 2014, the renowned Institute of Electronic Music
and Acoustics – IEM – of the University of Music and Performing Arts
Graz
is offering a "Computer-Music" Bachelor degree program, in addition to
its already well-established "Computer-Music" Master's degree program.
The main focusses of this three-year program – the first of its kind
in Austria – are:
* Computer-Music Composition
* Performance and interpretation of electronic works
* Conception and development of new electronic instruments
* Music Informatics

As these areas strongly overlap in the computer-music practice, the
presentation of a broad range of expertise is at the forefront of
studying. Furthermore, the students will get a comprehensive
understanding of the history, theory and aesthetics of computer-music.
This will give them the ability to critically reflect upon their own
work and to position themselves within the various artistic movements
of electronic music.

The "Computer-Music" Bachelor degree program will provide the students
with the skills for a career in the areas of music, art, media and the
creative industries. Also it will offer the possibility to supplement
the studies with the "Computer-Music" Master's program, where the
acquired knowledge will be intensified and methods of artistic
research will be gained.

All lectures could be audited on this day, also information about the
various courses of studies will be offered.

Deadline for entrance exam: September 03rd, 2014

I finish my bachelor next year so I need to keep my eyes open for Masters
program. Thanks for posting this, and if anyone else has advertisements like
this, please don't hesitate to post on the mailing list. I think I'm talking
on behalf of more computer music students than myself.
