Hello all, I've been working on a sequencer and visualization tool that uses Csound as its back-end and I've made a Windows preview available which can be found at https://sourceforge.net/projects/audiocarver/ I have not composed any new pieces with it yet but some older compositions and animations from previous versions can be found at http://www.audiocarver.com/ This release has been a long time coming and I'm very anxious to know how it does on other people's machines, so please let me know if you have any trouble using it or have any questions. I will be more than happy to assist! Regards, -andy.f |

Hi Andres, Thanks for trying it out. I know very little about linux so I'm not sure why it won't run under Wine. I'm currently using VC++ for development but will be migrating to QtCreator, eventually, which will enable cross-platform compilation through .pro files. audiocarver.com is the wrong address, my mistake. It should read http://www.audiosculptures.com/ Regards, -andy.f ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andres Cabrera" <mantaraya36@gmail.com> To: csound@lists.bath.ac.uk Sent: Monday, January 5, 2009 9:46:59 AM (GMT-0500) America/New_York Subject: [Csnd] Re: AudioCarver preview available for Windows. Hi Andy, Tried the Windows instaler on Ubuntu with Wine, but even though it installs, Audiovcarver won't run... =( It seems you are using Qt, but I saw no .pro file in the sources, ony a visual studio project, so I can't try building it on linux... Also www.audiocarver.com seems to be down. Hello Rory, I'm sorry it's not working but thanks for trying it out. After installation you should have a link to the documentation (Start->Programs->AudioCarver->AudioCarver Help). It's just an intro and a getting-started page but it should help. I'm not sure why it's crashing, but please bear with me as this is my first attempt at a stand-alone app. Are you on XP or Vista? What graphics card / opengl driver do you have? Tried it here on windows. It runs but I have no idea what to do with it? I did try to enter a note from the draw menu. After trying that it crashed with an exception. 2009/1/5 Andres Cabrera <mantaraya36@gmail.com>: > Hi Andy, > Send bugs reports to this list. Ok, I'll add error logging next, then. Maybe that will give a better idea of what's going wrong. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rory Walsh" <rorywalsh@ear.ie> To: csound@lists.bath.ac.uk Sent: Monday, January 5, 2009 10:32:21 AM (GMT-0500) America/New_York Subject: [Csnd] Re: Re: Re: Re: AudioCarver preview available for Windows. I'm on winXP. Not sure of the graphics card, it just came with my dell laptop, I'm sure it's an integrated card. Not sure also of opengl drivers either I'm afraid. I'm in no hurry to get going with it, I just thought I would try it out for you and report back. All the files listed are included in the install so maybe it's their location that Wine is having a hard time with? I don't know. The Coin3d opengl library I'm using from Systems In Motion performs very well, even on my old laptop. I'm not sure it uses Qt's opengl api, though, so I can't vouch for its performance. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andres Cabrera" <mantaraya36@gmail.com> To: csound@lists.bath.ac.uk Sent: Monday, January 5, 2009 10:30:00 AM (GMT-0500) America/New_York Subject: [Csnd] Re: Re: Re: AudioCarver preview available for Windows.
