Compiling 5.08 like this on Ubuntu 7.10:

scons useDouble=1 install=1 buildInterfaces=1 buildJavaWrapper=1 
dynamicCsoundLibrary=1 prefix=/opt/csound

It finds the Java headers, but it fails to build lib_jcsound.so

I tried several things: install Sun Java 1.6 in my home directory, put 
it in the PATH, point JAVA_HOME to it, etc. Nothing works.

What are the requirements for building that file? Where can I look for 
the failure in the compile process to identify what went wrong?
