[Csnd] Online music

After years of resistance I am going to break down and start buying music online (in addition to from stores) instead of only from stores. Naturally I'm most interested in Csound music and computer music. I include academic and non-academic computer music in this category. Any recommendations? This would be for streaming, downloads, or both. FWIW, I have music of my own online in several online stores. This will not be a factor in my decision. I often buy more mainstream stuff from Amazon, but for that small record store feel I'm a big fan of Other Music (http://digital.othermusic.com/) A On Wed, Mar 14, 2012 at 3:57 PM, Michael Gogins |

Of the less obvious ones, I would like to mention http://www.gubemusic.com/ they have a selection of 24/96 releases. Oeyvind 2012/3/14 Aidan Collins |

I personally prefer www.emusic.com GubenMusic and OtherMusic seem to be interesting to but I'm missing a search function for composer. When I want to buy music I'm first interested in who's music is played and not so much in who is playing it. Am 15. All of my music is online, streamable and downloadable, and free. Please visit: http://www.jolc.net/musicsite/recordings.php for fixed compositions. From 2004 on, all compositions were written with Csound. and: http://www.jolc.net/musicsite/improvs.php for improvisations and live performance. All performances were done with elaborate Csound csds. best, Lou Cohen On Mar 14, 2012, at 3:57 PM, Michael Gogins wrote: > After years of resistance I am going to break down and start buying > music online (in addition to from stores) instead of only from stores. > > Naturally I'm most interested in Csound music and computer music. Lou, This is a wonderful collection Lou. I am really enjoying them - playing Symphony8 right now. Thanks for composing them, organizing them, and sharing them. I would love to be able to download the set and drop the entire collection into iTunes (might you consider adding .zip files of the different "sub-collections" - like symphonies.zip and shapes.zip. Thanks for all your inspiring work. Richard, Thanks for exploring these pieces. I had not considered zip files, but why not? I'm working on another project right now but could get to that soon. On another subject, you might recall that you and I discussed my coming in to one of your classes to discuss my Schillinger article and also to explain my wiimote csd. I'm still interested in doing either. Let me know if these make sense. -Lou On Apr 1, 2012, at 1:17 AM, Dr. Richard Boulanger wrote: > Lou, > > This is a wonderful collection Lou. > I am really enjoying them - playing Symphony8 right now. > Thanks for composing them, organizing them, and sharing them. > > I would love to be able to download the set and drop the entire > collection into iTunes > (might you consider adding .zip files of the different "sub- > collections" - like symphonies.zip and shapes.zip. > > Thanks for all your inspiring work. > > Dr. B. > ___________________________________ > > Dr. Richard Boulanger, Ph.D. > > Professor of Electronic Production and Design > Professional Writing and Music Technology Division > Berklee College of Music > 1140 Boylston Street > Boston, MA 02215-3693 > > 617-747-2485 (office) > 774-488-9166 (cell) > > rboulanger@berklee.edu > > http://csounds.com/boulanger > ____________________________________ > > http://boulangerlabs.com > > http://csoundforlive.com > > http://csounds.com > ____________________________________ > > http://csounds.com/mathews > ____________________________________ > > On Mar 30, 2012, at 9:24 PM, Louis Cohen wrote: > >> All of my music is online, streamable and downloadable, and free. >> Please visit: >> >> http://www.jolc.net/musicsite/recordings.php >> for fixed compositions. Thank you for sharing the music, Lou. Great! If you were willing to share any CDSs I would love to study from them- although I understand that this may be asking a bit too much. Very interesting music! JB On Sun, Apr 1, 2012 at 8:48 AM, Louis Cohen <loucohen@jolc.net> wrote: Richard, |

For sure Lou, I would love you to come to Berklee and show your wiiMote/Csound systems to my CircuitBending/PhysicalComputing Class. Also... I would love you to come and speak with my Experimental Composition Class about your algorithmic systems and the Schillinger (and John Cage - Morton Feldman) connection. Let's get in touch off-list and coordinate some dates for after I return from a week of premiers out at UCSB. I will be on the west coast from April 9-17 and then have a Music Therapy Symposium in David Friend Recital Hall on April 20th (where there will be a ton of Csound and you should consider attending). Thanks again for your inspiring Csound work! -dB PS. The request for .csd files is a good one too - I would love to have and study them as well. ___________________________________ Dr. Richard Boulanger, Ph.D. Professor of Electronic Production and Design Professional Writing and Music Technology Division Berklee College of Music 1140 Boylston Street Boston, MA 02215-3693 617-747-2485 (office) 774-488-9166 (cell) ____________________________________ ____________________________________ On Apr 1, 2012, at 8:48 AM, Louis Cohen wrote:

That would be a great idea to have you come over to Berklee and talk to all of us.. Once again, thank you very much for all the music...For a beginner like me, it is highly inspiring at a compositional level... -- Deepak.
