Subject[Csnd] Online music
After years of resistance I am going to break down and start buying
music online (in addition to from stores) instead of only from stores.

Naturally I'm most interested in Csound music and computer music. I
include academic and non-academic computer music in this category.

Any recommendations? This would be for streaming, downloads, or both.

FWIW, I have music of my own online in several online stores. This
will not be a factor in my decision.

Thanks,
Mike

Of the less obvious ones, I would like to mention http://www.gubemusic.com/
they have a selection of 24/96 releases.

I personally prefer www.emusic.com
GubenMusic and OtherMusic seem to be interesting to but I'm missing a search function for composer. When I want to buy music I'm first interested in who's music is played and not so much in who is playing it.

Lou,

This is a wonderful collection Lou.
I am really enjoying them - playing Symphony8 right now.
Thanks for composing them, organizing them, and sharing them.

I would love to be able to download the set and drop the entire collection into iTunes
(might you consider adding .zip files of the different "sub-collections" - like symphonies.zip and shapes.zip.

Thanks for all your inspiring work.

Richard,

Thanks for exploring these pieces. I had not considered zip files, but
why not? I'm working on another project right now but could get to
that soon.

On another subject, you might recall that you and I discussed my
coming in to one of your classes to discuss my Schillinger article and
also to explain my wiimote csd.

I'm still interested in doing either. Let me know if these make sense.

Thank you for sharing the music, Lou.  Great!   If you were willing to share any CDSs I would love to study from them-  although I understand that this may be asking a bit too much.   Very interesting music!

For sure Lou,

I would love you to come to Berklee and show your wiiMote/Csound systems to my CircuitBending/PhysicalComputing Class.

Also...

I would love you to come and speak with my Experimental Composition Class about your algorithmic systems and the Schillinger (and
John Cage - Morton Feldman) connection.

Let's get in touch off-list and coordinate some dates for after I return from a week of premiers out at UCSB.

I will be on the west coast from April 9-17 and then have a Music Therapy Symposium in David Friend Recital Hall on April 20th
(where there will be a ton of Csound and you should consider attending).

Thanks again for your inspiring Csound work!

-dB

PS.  The request for .csd files is a good one too - I would love to have and study them as well.

Richard,

Thanks for exploring these pieces. I had not considered zip files, but why not? I'm working on another project right now but could get to that soon.

On another subject, you might recall that you and I discussed my coming in to one of your classes to discuss my Schillinger article and also to explain my wiimote csd.

I'm still interested in doing either. Let me know if these make sense.

Thanks,
Mike

That would be a great idea to have you come over to Berklee and talk to all of us..

Once again, thank you very much for all the music...For a beginner like me, it is highly inspiring at a compositional level...
