If this issue is already "closed"/non-debatable I'm sorry, but I couldn't find any conclusions in the two threads I read through. 

I agree very much with drB on this because even though there are several nice solutions suggested, I don't think any of them are very suitable to teach students starting with csound. My experience is that they expect using cpsmidi in several instruments to trigger all the instruments and when it doesn't, they get confused . 

For now I guess subinstr is a ok solution (from a pedagogic point of view that is!), but not as easy, "expectable" and quick as a massign with the possibility to target several instruments.
