I just tried the latest windows installer. I uninstalled the previous version of Csound I had and then installed the latest one. When running Csound from the command line I get: Error opening plugin directory 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Csound\plugins': No such file or directory Rory. |

Could you try installing in a path without any spaces? Regards, Mike On Wed, Mar 21, 2012 at 2:48 PM, Rory Walsh |

Actually, I installed it just now into the same path as you, and it works fine with me (in CsoundQt). What is "latest?" I have 5.17, but the "latest" on SourceForge last night was 5.16. I went into the 5.17 folder to get it. Regards, Mike On Wed, Mar 21, 2012 at 3:40 PM, Michael Gogins |

I tried with Csound 5.16. I'll give the latest installer a good run out and see if all issues have been resolved. Thanks. Rory. On 21 March 2012 19:47, Michael Gogins |

Regarding the latest releases, has Winsound and the Csound GUI been removed from the Windows installers? I tried installing the latest versions and do not seem to find them included. Apologies if this has been discussed. I have been off list for a while. Best, Michael On 3/21/12 5:55 PM, Rory Walsh wrote: > I tried with Csound 5.16. They have been removed because CsoundQt does all that they do and more. Regards, Mike On Wed, Mar 21, 2012 at 6:01 PM, Michael Rhoades |

No problem Mike. I am sure I am in the minority and it is not efficient to do the extra work involved for a single user... especially when you are developing Csound in such fantastic ways. But, for the record, the reason I like the simple GUIs is that I do not want to spend time sifting through the "more" you mentioned. I just want a simple button click to run my renders. All of my scos and orcs are done in other environments... I can continue to use version 5.10. It does everything I need it to. Sincere thanks for your efforts. If you don't mind me asking, QuteCsound has a simple button to do the renders, why don't you use it? On 21 Mar 2012, at 23:46, Michael Rhoades wrote: > No problem Mike. No I do not mind.... It probably just comes down to a working process that is very transparent for me because I have used it for so long. It is so automatic that I can concentrate fully on what I am hearing. Can one set up QuteCsound so that you can use other editors and only use it to render? I have not looked into it very much... Well, you just need to open your orc and sco and then render. You don't need to use the editor. On 22 Mar 2012, at 00:06, Michael Rhoades wrote: > No I do not mind....
