Dear Richard,
 
I totally agree with you. Although Csound is very flexible and powerful in many ways you are still
surprised sometimes that fairly simple (even trivial) things require tedious workarounds.
 
I think an "onoff" opcode that could be placed inside an instrument letting the user define additional instruments
that should be turned on or off would be of great use also. Like I said before, turning instruments on seems to be
easier than turning them off. Somehow it seems more difficult to get the i or k message that is transmitted when
an instrument is deactivated. What exactly is this message really? A negativ p1 or p3? I guess the first should be
required when turning a specific instrument off.
