Subject[Csnd] [OT] The Audio Programming Book - Reprinting Now - Calling for Erratum
Dear Csounders,

Hope you are well and that you are having an excellent and productive summer.

MIT Press has just contacted me and told me that they will be reprinting The Audio Programming Book and asked me to
send them a list of any corrections that need to be made to the code or words or figure captions or.... in the printed text.

I am hoping that many of you have a copy of the book.
Maybe you have spotted some things as you have been reading and working your way through it?

If so, now would be a great time to share what you have discovered with me.

I have found some things.

People have emailed me some things.

There are some things on The Audio Programming Book Group @ NoisePages
(which, if you are a reader, you might consider joining)

Victor has shared some things with me.

Some of you have shared some things with me.

Can you send me your lists of things you might have noticed, spotted, discovered or been told about by colleagues and friends by July 25?

Thanks.  I look forward to hearing from you all.

Here is an excerpt from the mail I received from them this morning:

The corrections that we are able to consider making at this time include fixing typographical errors, misspellings, wrong page entries in the  index, wrong figure references, missing credits, and out of date affiliations.

Hopefully you have some things that you spotted and you can send them along to me.

Thanks and Happy Summer Csounding.

Dr. B.

it has already been noted on this list that the book has lots of typos.
when this was discussed, i suggested creating a web page or wiki or
whatever to keep track of all the errata found in the book, in order to
avoid reporting the same typos over and over again. and also to help those
of us who bought the first edition...

i still think it's a good idea.

Hi Rick,

Having a great summer here... Hope you are too...

I have found a couple of errors here and there. Will go back and see if
I can find them...

Working on Garbriel's chapter now... It is fantastic.... Thank you so
much for all of your work, as well as the other contributors, with this.
I am learning things I have wanted to know for years...

Michael

Thanks Luis for this suggestion.

In one week, I will post the complete list of all that we have collected, and that has been reported so far @ Csounds.com.
- this will include some code-corrections too - which will be very important to those who purchased the first printing (such as myself
and my students!)

Hopefully this email... will not deter readers from sending things to me right away.

I would love this page, when posted, to be filled with all the typos that you and they have discovered.

Best,

-dr.B.

Cold but not so wet winter here, too.
Do you have a timeframe for this second  printing?
(Just wondering what to recommend....)
