Hello all! In my MacBookPro operating system is OSX 10.6.8 and my version of Csound is 5.13. If possible I would like to have some information: /- As a newer version of Csound could install on my operating system? - If I install a higher version it will overlay the old 5.13? - So I can no longer work with Csound 5.13?/ I'm asking this because I want to go to CsoundQt but I would also continue to use the old MacCsound frontend that works with version 5.13. Thanks for any advice, Enrico -- View this message in context: http://csound.1045644.n5.nabble.com/Csound-and-OSX-10-6-tp5718639.html Sent from the Csound - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

The simple answer is no. Once you update Csound to a new version, the old one gets overwritten. Hi, I'd be interested in knowing if the latest CsounQt works for you with that setup (v. 0.7.0) if it does, I'm interested in knowing if you still need features from MacCsound that are not there or not working. Cheers, On Dec 8, 2012 11:00 AM, "Enrico Francioni" <francioni61021@libero.it> wrote:

Thanks Victor, but I still have some questions: So could install a version of Csound that functions both with MacCsound that with CsoundQt? from the site of Ingalls http://www.csounds.com/matt/d+d.html I see that MacCsound works up to version 5.12 (on OSX 10.6), but for example on my Mac also works with version 5.13 (of course you must also install Rosetta). I ask then: 1. to which version of Csound works MacCsound? 2. doing tests in this way, it is possible after installing a more advanced version upgrade to an earlier version of Csound? For example you can switch from version 5.15 to version 5.13? I figured instead of moving to a more advanced version it will overwrite the previous version. enrico -- View this message in context: http://csound.1045644.n5.nabble.com/Csound-and-OSX-10-6-tp5718639p5718642.html Sent from the Csound - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

I don't know, but it's the final package for 10.5 that should be the last one with the PPC architecture. It's because 10.6 does not support PPC anymore (AFAIK). yes, but the released 10.6 versions do NOT have ppc, as we never installed the sdk or rosetta.
