Subject[Csnd] can't acess floss-manuals on csound
Dear community,
I can't acess the floss manuals for csound.
Is there something wrong?

Hi Stefan -

yes, the floss maintainers decided to deprecate the public view of a
non-finished manual, because they found this view ugly and misleading.

Iain McCurdy, Alex Hofmann and me will meet in Berlin the last days of
this month, for finishing the first version of the Csound Floss Manual.
Then it will appear on this site:
http://en.flossmanuals.net/

I will inform this list when it's done.

Meanwhile, you can download the current version here:
http://www.joachimheintz.de/unsicher/CsoundFloss110201.pdf
(It's also possible to log in at
http://booki.flossmanuals.net/accounts/signin/ and read it online as
edit view.)

Sorry for the complications, but I hope we will have a new link and a
good first version of the Csound Floss Manual in two weeks. Best -

	joachim

oh I see....

The other day I just added a few lines to Booki book Csound:

http://www.booki.cc/csound/_v/1.0/qutecsound/

"QuteCsound is the standard graphic frontend to Csound, but there are
several others. QuteCsound displays the Csound code in different colours,
that makes it easier to read and write. There are buttons for Run, Stop,
Render etc, and many useful code examples (tutorials, music, synths....).

"Widgets", interduced by QuteCsound, is a graphic tool to control Csound.

There is also a quick way to access The Canonical Csound Reference Manual
(Upcode help)

The Output Console has its own window to show how Csound performs (number of
samples out of range, syntax errors, speed etc.)"

Hi Bjørn -

thanks for contributing! Would you mind to put you text here:
http://booki.flossmanuals.net/csound/edit/

Unfortunately, there is a liitle confusion, because by some reason an
old version of our textbook (totally incomplete) appeared as booki book.
I didn't know this, and I will ask Adam Hyde how we can avoid editing
the same book on two url's.

Thanks and best regards -

At present, it appears that one needs to create an account in order to view
this manual. Is there a plan to make the manual freely available without the
need to create an account? Or am I just misunderstanding the user interface?

Once it's published it can be viewed by everyone. The guys are giving
it one last push in the next few days to get it done so I think it
should be available online soon.

Rory.

exactely. it will be accessible then on

everyone will be able to download it in different formats, and put it on
any site, if he/she likes. try the pd, ardour or audacity manual to see
what's possible.
