Subject[Csnd] Csound~ object Max/MSP
Hello,

I'm not sure if I am doing something completely wrong here, this is my first attempt with the csound~ object.
I have followed the flossmanual for csound in max very closely but the object doesn't appear to be reacting as it should.

For example, I attempted the basics! Creating the helloworld.csd and accompanying max patcher, with no result.
When I open the Max Help patcher for csound~ it runs perfectly. Double click on the object and QT opens etc.

When I add a new csound~ object it doesn't respond to anything (double clicking, 'open' message).

Am I missing something quite obvious?

Thanks for your help

Jason Lim

ps. I am running Csound5.17 Max5 and installed the newest version of the csound~ object. On Lion.

Hello,

Can you send me a simple patch that doesn't run off list for me to test?

Best,

Peiman

OK I just double checked. You need to define a csd as an argument in
order for csound~ to become functional. So put your CSD in a folder,
save an empty patcher in the same folder. Next edit the patcher,
giving the full name (including the .csd extension) of your CSD to
csound~ as an argument. Now double clicking should open the csd with
the Csound editor.

Best,

P

PS if the examples run OK then your system is configured correctly so
you don't need to worry about that.
