A nasty was discovered and fixed that led to very slow times in some
cases.  As a result we have placed files for 5.17.6 on Sourceforge.
At present there are sources in tar and zip format, and binaries for
Debian i386, OSX10.6 and OSX10.7, and Android and iOS.  Others may
follow.
  There is no new functionality, but it is better.....
