Subject[Csnd] "live csound" workshop at lac 2012
hi all -

i think this is a similar report to tarmo's which i just read (couldn't
follow up the list in the last days). i've held a workshop at the linux
audio conference last sunday about the usage of csound in a
live-electronic context, mainly in csoundqt. i tried to explain by some
examples how csound can be "tuned" to the needs of a live performer:
- metering input and output
- using control and audio busses
- working with presets
- triggering events
- instrument design for flexible control in real time

i was very happy to see the participation and the reaction of both,
people using csound already, and people using super collider or pure
data, but are interested in knowing more about csound (either
integrating it in pd via victor's external, or using it via the api, or
just learning how to do things in csound). it was fun to have this
workshop, and i felt again confirmed in the opinion that one major task
for csound people is to show how things can be done in csound, and how
easy many things are here (fourier transform, software busses, ...).
people from outside often seem to see a wild forest of opcodes, and feel
a bit helpless on the way.

i will try to put my contributions to the linux audio conference
together in an article for the csound journal. all best -
