Hi list, I was wondering if any of you have any pointers on how to synthesize the sounds of water drops and bird calls. They don't need to be totally convincing or real, just have similar qualities to the actual thing. I'm especially curious about the water drops, as I keep hearing synths in electronic tracks that have that drop-like quality. Yet I never managed to figure out how they're synthesized... Any hints?
Thanks, Alex

Andy Farnell's book 'Designing Sound' has sections on both. I haven't gotten that far in the book, so I can't give any pointers at this time.
