I found out that my recent windows install from the
Csound5.17-gnu-win32-d.exe installer did not include
the vst* opcodes.  They are listed in the online
manual, however.  I found a link to an installer on
Michael Goggins' website, version 5.13.  I tried that,
and it gave me the option for vst stuff, but when
I run it I get this:

  error while loading shared libraries: libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll

My question is, how shall I get a version of csound
that contains these enticing opcodes?

I looked briefly last night, but didn't see it for download.
Do I have to install mingGW, or at least, would that
give it to me?

You don't need to install MinGW. You can get it from here:

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?libgcc_s_dw2-1

Just download the file itself, don't download and use the "fixer." I
don't know what's in the 'fixer" but I have used this site to obtain
missing DLLs in the past without obvious bad results.

There are other sites from which to obtain missing DLLs.
