Tested it yesterday.

It works great even in Firefox (when installed jazz-soft extension which brings Web MIDI API - https://jazz-soft.net/download/).

I like modern style in which this instrument is written. I tend to use strange hybrid of old and new CSound syntax.

It sounds good too. Reminds me DX-7 style pads. I even needed to google how real ocarina looks. :D

I also like the linked article - it is interesting that the characteristics sound of this instrument is done by imperfections in tuning of second VCO.

Hi All,

I thought I'd share a fun patch:

It's a MIDI instrument implementing Lyle Mays' Ocarina Sound based on the article:

If you're on a chrome-based browser and have a MIDI keyboard connected, you should be able to load the project, press play, then play away on the keyboard. Some of the values were done by ear and just experimenting. I've always loved Lyle Mays' parts on Pat Metheny records and it was nice to get a reasonably close sound.

Cheers!
Steven

I saw your note about JazzMutant the other day and haven't had a chance to try it yet. Great to hear it is working with Firefox as I often use it. I'll see about adding information to the website manual regarding WebMIDI and a link to JazzMutant. Thanks!
