Only on Linux now, but it's all I'm using on that platform. Still
haven't got around to testing on windows..

I've started using it recently on OS X 10.8.4.
BTW, software testing is what I do a lot, professionally. Would love to give some time to csound6, but have so many other things going on right now. Will let you know if I find something and provide some test cases.

Hi,

I have built it and use it on openSuse 12.3 64bit.
Have not been able to spend much time with csound these days but everythng
seems absolutely fine so far.

Since most of my stuff use widgets of CsoundQt and it is not stable with
Csound6 yet, I am also held back a bit. (I have an idea for workaround, hope
to post soon!)

Thanks!

I’m doing Windows 8 desktop (not WinRT) testing of Michael’s released versions of cs6 release candidates as they arrive (csound64.dll as delivered).  I’m running test suites in C# via a .net bridge into the new ‘c’ api of cs6 that I am putting together this summer.  So you are getting confirmation that the cs6 api entry points work as advertised in that environment - even over a language bridge.  I’m reporting issues as I find them.  Only a couple so far - which were addressed already by Victor.

Haven’t done deep csd testing on cs6 musical features on windows 8, though.  Hopefully others will get to that before I do.

compiled perfectly here on linux (gentoo). seems to be running fine,
although i just tested a couple of old orchestras. i'd be more than
willing to contribute to a more thorough testing, but apart from compiling
orchestras at random i wouldn't know what to do. we don't have a test suit
or anything, do we?

BTW, i only had a problem during installation: csound tries to install some
utilities with names that are not unique and conflict with already
installed files, specifically sndinfo (from bill shottstaedt's snd) and
extract. perhaps in csound6 the utilities could be renamed? some of the
utilities already have names starting with "cs" (csanalyze, csb64enc,
csbeats). would it be possible/convenient to use a similar criterion for
all the utilities, or at least for those with conflicting names?

I use Csound 6 routinely for actually making music on Windows 8, Ubuntu Linux 12.04, and Android 4.2.2. I mostly use the C++ and Lua APIs. All very good so far!

Thanks so much for all the work that has gone into Csound6,
and sorry for coming so extremely late to the party.

I finally got started testing now. Basic examples work fine, but I have some more involved examples that will segfault, perhaps due to using python opcodes (haven't been able to pin down the cause yet)

This is on win7.
I did install the "Setup_Csound6_0rc3.exe" from sourceforge,
then renamed csound.exe in my Csound6/bin folder to csound6.exe.
I thought this would allow using csound 5 and 6 side by side, selecting version by calling csound.exe or csound6.exe, am I right that this should work?
It seems to work, but I am curious if issues may arise due to the parallell installation, causing apparent problems with csound6 that could be attributed to the parallell install?

Ok. Got it.

The attached example creates a segfault when instr 2 is started.
If I leave everything as it is, just not start any instances of instrument 2, it will work fine,
starting instr 31 will then produce sound as normal (event for testing is in score but commented out now)

It seems the header python statements works without problems but the pycall opcode not behaving well.
