As some of you may dimly recall, I have a project on Google Code for doing algorithmic composition in pure Lua. Until now, this project was not capable of sound synthesis on Android devices.

That has now changed, because Csound 6 for Android includes the Lua opcodes and LuaJIT/FFI. Therefore it is now possible to use Silencio's facilities for chord and voice-leading mathematics, score management, MIDI import and export (using Peter Billam's code fromĀ http://www.pjb.com.au/midi/index.html), and so on by running Lua code in Csound orchestras.

I have also gone over the ChordSpace.lua code and tried to make sure that all the algorithms are equivalent to those found in my newer ChordSpace.hpp code, which is a part of CsoundAC.

I have hardly begun to experiment with this, but I expect I will soon be adding some goodies to the archive of examples for Android on SourceForge.

Regards,
Mike
