Analog Synth world--- One keyboard, one pitch bend controller for that keyboard.
With a soft synth and digital recording, each MIDI channel can have its own
pitch bend. It can be mixed and matched with some channels pitch bending and
other channels not.

For live or real time, each of multiple MIDI controllers would have to be to be on
and control different channels to get simultaneous realtime performance.

My soft synth is a AU plug-in, so I can open it on 16-channels of my mixer and
have each controlled by a different MIDI channel, pitch bending different ranges
and sweep rates. It would also be taxing on my processor (hitting the limits
on my G4 Power Book) and probably close/crash the programs.

You can have one channel pitch bend and another not bend. It's all in the software
and how you set it up. Realtime analog synth set-up would a bit hardware heavy,
but the results are pretty cool. Multiple keyboard controllers, on separate MIDI
channels controlling same soft synth, opened on separate mixer channels gives
lots of versitility and control of the individual elements.

Not directly csound, but hoping to appeal to the knowledge of those
who've used software synths, like Zebra 2. I'm playing around with the
Zebra 2 demo, and turns out that one can't set pitch bend differently
for each channel; all notes (no matter what channel they belong to)
respond to a pitch bend message sent to any channel. This kind of
shoots down the idea of microtuning each note of a chord independently
without resorting to one VST instance for every note.

Anyone know if this is generally true of software synths, especially
analog models?
