Perry Tee: You won't be able to rewire Reason 3 into Csound on a Mac, unfortunately you'd need Reason 4 (minimum) and then Cycling '73 MAX/MSP to run Csound as a modular instrument within MAX then, Reason can be ReWired into MAX/MSP. Kinda' convoluted... plus the CPU strain goes up.

Partev Sarkissian: I thought as much. I was looking to do some sampling via the samplers, but I think it only uses its samples. I figured there were some ver3 limitations like that w/ 3rd party stuff.

Perry: Now that Reason 5 just released (last week, actually), one of the new features is that you can do real-time sampling with the devices in Reason 5. Like old school hardware samplers.

Partev: Too baaaaadddd my Macs won't do ver5. Looks like my music partner is the goto again. His set-up has my ver4 on it cause my set-up won't even do that.

Perry: yeah... your Panther OSX.

Partev: I know,... Panther OSX, but love my little black kitty-cat.

Perry: yeah. if it's rock-solid... then it's good!

Partev: Look at those Csound postings on Nabble, Victor has 5000+ and I'm just 194,... such a light weight....  Victor is my bud, I won't hold it against him, he teaches this stuff.

I'll pick someone's brain about this at work Monday. Line 6 is the 
North American distributor for Propellorhead's Reason, Rewire and
Record. I work as an electronics repair tech with customer support
at Line 6. There are two guys who know the Propellorhead products
really well. I could pick there brains on Monday about this and see
what they think.

Oh, and Victor,... I've still got our last correspondances going 
thru my head. Still looking thru your two AES papers at that stuff. 
You got the cogs and tumbles in my brain rolling around and got 
them going and rolling now.

if PD has rewire support then it should not be difficult to implement  
it in Csound, since PD is Open Source and the 'mysteries' of rewire  
would be revealed...
