I just tried to install csound from SourceForge for Windows XP, using
the latest self-extracting exe (I think it was 5.12) and it installed,
but upon running it, I got a message about missing phtreadGC2. I
looked up this message on the web and learned it is a common problem,
sometimes attributable to viruses or a corrupted system. However, my
system passed a virus scan, and it is a brand-new laptop with very
little other software installed so corruption seems unlikely. Any
ideas?

Download it from http://sourceware.org/pthreads-win32/ or wait for me to update the installer (probably tomorrow evening). Regards, Mike On Mon, Sep 6, 2010 at 4:39 PM, Johann Bach |

Clean win xp pro sp1 install (no viruses.. no software other than that provided by microsoft in basic win xp install) I just had the same problem... copying the file to csound/bin folder solved the problem as expected. On Mon, Sep 6, 2010 at 9:51 PM, Michael Gogins <michael.gogins@gmail.com> wrote: Download it from http://sourceware.org/pthreads-win32/ or wait for me -- music moves more than the maker |
