[Csnd] vst plugin on OS X

Subject[Csnd] vst plugin on OS X
I would like to use a commercial vst plugin with csound. Regarding
recently added Csound features, the csound manual says:

vst4cs VST adapter opcodes for hosting VST plugins in Csound.
(Distributed in source form only due to the VST SDK licence
restrictions.)

This seems to take me into some very new territory! What would I need
to know, and what would I need to do, in order to find and use the
source code to make the vst opcodes available to me?

I'm currently using csound 5.10.

best,
Lou Cohen

You could build Csound yourself and set 'buildvst4cs' to 1 when
building with scons. I've never done it but I imagine you will also
need to download the VST sdk and make sure the compiler can find it
which involves you editing custom.py to make sure the path to the sdk
is ok.

Rory.

p.s. of course someone may have a compiled binary lying around they
could send you on the quiet?

These features for Windows can be found here:

For Linux, you have to build them.

Hope this helps,
Mike
