Victor's csndsugui activity (csndsugui.py) has been immensely helpful to me 
in developing my Sugar activities (Our Music and Our Music MC - they can be 
found at activities.sugarlabs.org).

For *developer* help, the main place to go is this list:
sugar-devel@lists.sugarlabs.org. To my knowledge, I've been the only active 
*music* developer on the list for some time. Peter Robinson maintains Csound 
for Sugar, and has been technically helpful. Csound 5.08 was used with 0.82 
Sugar on the XO-1; since then, for all versions of Sugar on a Stick and 0.84 
Sugar and higher, Csound 5.10 is used.

If an actual *user* has problems, I don't know where he or she would go. (I 
refer those with issues with my activities to me. So far, I've had no 
communication.)

I understood the OLPC's in Australia were XO 1.5's. Which I think
means an upgrade in hardware, linux, Sugar and - if version of sugar
is the same as the one used on SOAS, uses csound 5.10 (rather 5.08).

Yes it uses Csound.

I too have never had communication regarding user problems, despite a
suspicious number of downloads.
