Subject[Csnd] CS conference
Hello,

I needed to leave yesterday in a middle of a section and could not say properly thank you and good bye.

First of all geatest thanks to Joachim and Alex and all the team - for organizing, initalizing and managing all the wonderful event!

It was enormously inspiring and interesting, I am dead certain that all of the participants got an immense encouraging impulse, and so did Csound itself too.

kindest regards,
tarmo

Indeed. I've been to quite a few conferences this year and this was
the most enjoyable and the one closest to my heart. Thanks to Joachim
for initiating a monumental gathering.

It was great to see so many of you in person, I'm sorry we were in a
rush to leave and did not get to say goodbye to everyone.

Best,

Peiman

we can exchange on the lists, seeing people in such a context is
invaluable. We will feel the benefit of this conference for a long time.

SubjectRe: [Csnd] CS conference
thanks, thanks, thanks for all the really moving words.
i can't express how glad i am about these days with you all. i think we
all felt and experienced how much fun it is to work together in this
way. i was deeply impressed about the atmosphere of listening to each
other, discussing with each other, and experiencing ourselves in many
different aspects, both, related to the csound project, and as individuals.
the strange and somehow magic moment when list-identities become real
persons: it opens a new dimension of contact and collaboration. it
simply becomes more natural in a way; and - what we obviously all feel
now - it creates a certain energy. hope we can keep some of it until the
next meeting. and perhaps new forms of chats come out now, as we
projected in our last roundtable.
i started today to collect all the documentation (audio & video). it
will take some time, and i may need some help, but i will try to make it
all available; for us to remember, and for all who could not be there to
participate in this way. we should also share our photos on a free
platform (any suggestions?); today i've uploaded the group photo on
www.cs-conf.de.
thanks so much to all who have come. a party is as good as the guests
are. the host just offers the frame. but then he is perhaps even happier
than all the guests; seeing that everything runs fine.
all best -

I would like to add my thanks also....

Joachim, Alex, Anna, and any and all students or other people who
worked behind the scenes to make this conference so productive and so
enjoyable for me, and I'm pretty sure all the other participants as
well, a huge thank you!

I'm particularly grateful for the second concert. I may have heard
some better pieces here and there in my years of attending concerts of
electronic and computer music, but this concert had an unusually high
standard with many strong pieces that I hope to hear again, and
nothing at all that I did not enjoy hearing.

The best thing, of course, is that I didn't have to wonder, if I heard
a piece I liked, if it was made with Csound. I knew it was made with
Csound! It gave me the image of Csound being almost a transparent
window into the minds and ears of the musicians, relaying and
realizing many styles and ideas without any coloration from the
instrument, like a magic mirror.

Best regards,
Mike Gogins

SubjectRe: [Csnd] CS conference
Warmest thanks to those who hosted and worked to make this conference
happen- Joachim, Anna, Alex, and the team from HMTH -- and to those
who presented papers, gave workshops, and performed their music for us
on Saturday! This was a truly memorable experience for me, and one
that expanded my view of the Csound community in a way that no studies
or email discussions could ever offer.

The brilliance, passion, and dedication of the international Csound
community is the impression I leave Hanover with, and as I continue to
study and find applications for Csound in my work, I will draw on the
experience of the past 4 days for inspiration and motivation. I am so
glad to have had a chance to speak with you in person, and grateful
for the opportunity to share my musical efforts with those who came to
Friday's concert, along with Dr. Boulanger, whose guidance and
encouragement led me to Csound - and to take this step to join the
larger community, help with the Csounds.com website, and find ways to
use and share Csound.

I am sure we will be in touch very soon, and as I progress in my work
with Csound (and work with Dr. Boulanger on enhancing Csounds.com) I
know that I am part of a wonderfully talented and inspiring group of
individuals who share ideas freely and care deeply about bringing
Csound to the world through community, education, and incessant
research.

Much respect, and I hope to work with you all again on many levels as
we forge ahead together,

John Clements

SubjectRe: [Csnd] CS conference
This was an incredibly inspiring weekend for all of us.

And we hope to host the next conference at Berklee.

I just hope it will be 1/2 as great as this conference was...

Joachim, Alex, Anna, Damien, and all the team members
were awesome - and all their hard work and wonderful
preparation and attention to details meant that the whole
atmosphere was one of extreme calm under which we
could all just think and plan and dream.

The music was incredibly inspiring.
The papers were fantastic.
The workshops.... WOW... I am ready to teach many many new things now as a result.

I am quite sure that all the new initiatives, the new collaborations, the new features, and.... the new
friendships that were coordinated, inspired, and started in these four days will take Csound 10 years ahead (in just one).

I have attended international conferences for the past 30 years and I can tell you that NONE have been this productive.
It was the focus and the people and... the spirit of Csound which is now even stronger because of the connections
made over these four days.

Thanks so much Joachim for making this happen and for you many contributions to Csound.

Thanks all those who attended the conference for their incredibly inspiring work and music.

Dr. B.

SubjectRe: [Csnd] CS conference
Yes, I would have loved to have attended as well.
Alas work has me all tied up...

If there were some videos or notes it would be great
to at least be able to see what was discussed and
what ideas were proposed.

It is so exciting to see people fired up about csound
and meeting to discuss how it can be used and
the vision of what it should be in the future.

I hope to be able to make it to the next one.

Yeah, and we need more pics with people's names listed, too.  It's
great having faces to put with the names, but I still have no idea
what Andres looks like =)

Boston, I'm there!
