[Csnd] Table builders

Subject[Csnd] Table builders
Following the current discussion at Csound Conference, there are 2 simple
table builders

brkpt: creates a breakpoint table
tabdes: creates tables from algebraic forms

there is also

linseg: support for linseg tables

that write linseg opcode lines

All the work of Matt Gilliard in 2002

Sorry to be dense, but brkpt and tabdes are not opcodes -- not in the 5.13
manual, anyway. What are they?

they are very small perlTk programs that allow you to draw a siegment file
and the output is the necessary table definition line

Same for linseg

Perhaps I will need to write better documentation

I found that two of these already get installed, but they don't work,
(brkpt also seems to be missing).
The error I get on osx with csound 5.13 is as follows.

Subject[Cs-dev] Building Csound in Linux with CMake to use PortAudio
I have built and installed Csound in Linux using CMake to configure the
build. I am trying to get real time output to work via PortAudio. When I
type the following command in the examples directory:

    csound -o dac xanadu.csd

I get:

*** error: unknown rtaudio module: 'PortAudio'
Failed to initialize real time audio output

I have build and installed PortAudio using V19, SVN rev 1647 dated March 26,
2011.

Is this build configuration just not supported with CMake yet?

I found the scons 'usePortAudio' flag, but I have not found anything
equivalent for the CMake configuration.

One reason I want to use CMake is for the simple out of source build
capability.

I found an article on out of source builds with scons:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1762044/out-of-source-build-with-scons

I really prefer CMake at this point though.

Any suggestions? Is Jack or ALSA a better choice for Linux?

Hello,

they should be in the same dir whre your csound binary is intalled, so most likely /usr/bin or /usr/local/bin
or if you copiled your csound yourself, they should be in the root folder of the source.

greetings,

perhaps http://www.perltk.org/ can help?
when you run in the terminal
locate PerlTk
you should be able to see whether it's installed in your system or not.
