| Announcing the completion of phase 1 of my latest (grand) project:
ON THE SIXTH DAY (2008)
A Trilogy of Sonic Environments for realtime Csound5
Environment 1 - I
Environment 2 - We
Environment 3 - Family
These are all really instruments, or "structures for improvization." The
third one (just finished today) blossomed into a very large project - 46
alternate versions - which makes for 92 performance files, as each has a
Lettuce (.exe) version.
All materials, including sample .mp3's at: http://www.arthunkins.com.
These were all conceived with the idea of morphing them into Activities for
the OLPC. That is phase 2 of the project, and I'll be looking for lots of
help here - especially in regard to making GUIs in Python (Python and Linux
are both totally new areas for me).
One opening question: I've been running these - realtime - without incident
on my AMD Athlon, 1.4GHz, 480MB RAM, Windows XP Professional desktop, with
an average CPU usage (according to the particular version) of 20-27%. SR is
44100 (the minimum possible), stereo. What's the likelihood of these running
on the OLPC?
(All suggestions, rants, whatever, welcome.)
