| Hello,
Last week I had a very nice experience in a hearing impaired school. I used a
sound game meant at first for kindergarden children and used with them. The
students had sliders and switches and played them according to my hand signs.
The experience took place in a vibro-hall so they got feedback through the
floor + I visualized the sound to wall (using baudline and also Porject-M for
beautiful animations).
They enjoyed it very much! The sound was not right for deaf people - too much
taking place within the sound and too little rhythm. But the field is
extremely exciting - I am very interested and hope to create new sound games
that enable deaf people to really play music and enjoy it with very simple
tools (like a computer mouse or anything like that).
The link is up on https://vimeo.com/61036850
For the sound, mostly scanned synthesis was used.
best regards,
tarmo
