c was and still might be a reserved character that, when at the beginning of a line, indicated that what followed was a comment. c was taken. k was not and as we all know the incorporation of a control rate and computation at the control rate of many opcode in an orchestra was a huge innovation by Vercoe that made Csound fast and helped to make Csound "last" Sent from my iPhone.
