[Csnd] Last version compatible with MacCsound?

| Subject | [Csnd] Last version compatible with MacCsound? |
Quite some time ago, I updated to the most recent version of Csound, and
in so doing broke compatibility with MacCsound; I understood in advance
that would happen, so it was not a surprise. However, recently I've done
a fresh installation of Mac OS X 10.4 on an external hard drive, and
having discovered how much I miss MacCsound, I see this as an opportunity
to get it working again. What I need to know is, what was the last
version of Csound that worked with MacCsound, and where can I get it?
Thanks! :-)

Hi, I think the last version before the API version bump, which is why MacCsound is incompatible with new versions is 5.09. It should be there on sourceforge. I also remember Matt some while ago published in this list a new self-contained version of MacCsound which included Csound. You might also want to give QuteCsound a try, which can open MacCsound files. If you don't find it adequate, I'd like to hear why =) Cheers, Andrés On Fri, Mar 26, 2010 at 12:59 AM, |

Hello everyone,

http://www.csounds.com/matt/MacCsound.1.4b1.dmg
runs with Csound 5.10
[…for me OSX 10.4.11 ppc]

Thank you so much! That works perfectly for me; I wasn't aware of that
update. (Matt, thank you for doing that!)
Also, thank you Andrés for suggesting QuteCsound. That got me to watch
the (well-timed) videos Alex just posted, and that definitely looks like
an environment I want to explore. (Alex, thank you for doing that!)
