Subject[Csnd] CsoundAC question
Hi,

I'm trying to get CsoundAC up and running and am getting an error at a
very early stage. I'm on Linux (Ubuntu) and have installed Csound5 and
python-csoundac via synaptic. In python I get the following error when I
try to import CsoundAC. Can someone please advise?

Many thanks,
Peter

Ubuntu natty should have this problem fixed. See

linked bugs

Thanks.
That's a shame. I'm not planning on upgrading to natty yet. Do you know
if there is an alternative?
Best,
Peter

Maybe you could build your own CsoundAC? There is a simple way to get
all dependencies for Csound so you can easily build it on Ubuntu/Debian,
Felipe might be able to advise...

Or even better, we were told (by Andres) that

apt-get build-dep csound

will get all the dependencies for Csound, then you can build from the source package.

The problem was that the version of scons in the Ubuntu archive at the
time was somehow broken. So you need to install a newer version of
scons first, before rebuilding csound.

Also, I would change the address quoted below by Victor to a newer one:

http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/c/csound/csound_5.13.0~dfsg-3.dsc
