Hi, I'm trying to get CsoundAC up and running and am getting an error at a very early stage. I'm on Linux (Ubuntu) and have installed Csound5 and python-csoundac via synaptic. In python I get the following error when I try to import CsoundAC. Can someone please advise? Many thanks, Peter python Python 2.6.6 (r266:84292, Sep 15 2010, 15:52:39) [GCC 4.4.5] on linux2 Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> import CsoundAC Traceback (most recent call last): File " |

Ubuntu natty should have this problem fixed. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/csound/+bug/719206 and the linked bugs On Mon, May 9, 2011 at 02:23, Peter O'Doherty |

Thanks. That's a shame. I'm not planning on upgrading to natty yet. Do you know if there is an alternative? Maybe you could build your own CsoundAC? There is a simple way to get all dependencies for Csound so you can easily build it on Ubuntu/Debian, Felipe might be able to advise... This was what Felipe told us last year: sudo apt-get install devscripts dget http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/c/csound/csound_5.12.1~dfsg-6.dsc dpkg-source -x csound_5.12.1* cd csound-* dpkg-checkbuilddeps sudo apt-get install the missing dependencies dpkg-buildpackage -j2 sudo debi On 9 May 2011, at 20:29, Victor Lazzarini wrote:

Or even better, we were told (by Andres) that apt-get build-dep csound will get all the dependencies for Csound, then you can build from the source package. On 9 May 2011, at 20:32, Victor Lazzarini wrote:

The problem was that the version of scons in the Ubuntu archive at the time was somehow broken. So you need to install a newer version of scons first, before rebuilding csound. Also, I would change the address quoted below by Victor to a newer one: http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/c/csound/csound_5.13.0~dfsg-3.dsc On Mon, May 9, 2011 at 15:34, Victor Lazzarini |
