| Hi everyone,
Very interesting points being raised about approaching Csound from the
beginning. Reminds me a little of a book that I read about promoting music
online (http://www.amazon.co.uk/DIY-Music-Manual-Promote-
Distribute/dp/0091927927) with a chapter on web design.
When designing a site for a musician/composer/etc, the authors
suggested 'roleplaying' a different type of user each time. For example, what
a computer music enthusiast might want to see upon searching for Csound
(examples of code, frontends, comparison charts) obviously differs greatly
from what a casual electronic music listener might want to encounter (music
examples, instant gratification, etc)
I suppose things get a little less black and white with the potential users in
between the extremes! When I was getting to grips with Csound, Bob has just
reminded me, I found Kim Cascone's Bluecube article extremely helpful - it was
nice to see the opcodes presented in the context of a composition.
And (perhaps I am a little late with this) I had a fantastic time at LAC2011 -
most inspiring material and company!
