Not sure how Dumb I'm looking with this one. Just going through the tutorials
on youtube and currently on this one
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmr4BpohjwE "Introduction into samples". The
files in the same directory but he made it look very simple in the video,
I'm not sure what the errors mean for me coming from the terminal so I've
uploaded a screen shot of the script and the terminal.

Your file is probably stereo, and you are using only one output in soundin. Try using

aIn, aIn2 soundin “rosewavloop1.wav”
