I ve only recently started learning c and my main motive for this is to perform with real time audio. I wanted to make sure i could use csound through the terminal on osx and the lunix terminal on the raspberry pi. I wasnt sure what was the most appropriate link I should use to download what ever i needed to compile csound. I was hoping people would have a strong predilection for the best way to go in this sort of case Thank you very much Fauveboy -- View this message in context: http://csound.1045644.n5.nabble.com/Most-appropriate-csound-download-link-tp5733451.html Sent from the Csound - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. Thats great thank you....I think I need to do a bit more studying with just c programming before I can get round to fully understanding how i would want to utilise csound. Im trying to do it in the most economic way and I've been told to avoid IDE's ... -- View this message in context: http://csound.1045644.n5.nabble.com/Most-appropriate-csound-download-link-tp5733451p5733546.html Sent from the Csound - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. C programming, regarding the creation of audio, it seems to me, would be the second step after becoming proficient with csound. Could you outline a little more about what your goals are with regard to "real time audio". Tobiah > Im trying to do it in the most economic way and I've > been told to avoid IDE's ... Gladly, My top goal was to have the monome 256 http://monome.org/ connected to the raspberry pi. I wanted to be able launch samples and modulate them in real time. I was aiming for an initial patch to load on boot and for me to load up new scripts for a different "song" essentially just through the monome talking to the pi. I'm learning from Zed Shaw's "Learn C the Hard Way" http://c.learncodethehardway.org/ who shows you how to extract and configure files through the terminal(think thats what I mean't by economically). I don't want to jump ahead of myself but in between learning c at the moment I try to do a bit of research looking forward, so recently I came across this http://www.csounds.com/journal/issue18/beagle_pi.html I believe this explains alot of what I need to do at a later date to achieve my goal. For reference I've been inspired by what Paul Batchelor's been doing, for example, in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT_UDo09UGw and I basically wanted to develop working in this way, with anything on the raspberry pi I don't essentially need striped away and for the raspberry pi to be fully configured to launch and modulate samples in real time.
