Subject[Csnd] csound floss manual: next release
hi all -

next week iain mccurdy and myself will meet in hannover to work on the
next release of the csound floss manual (http://en.flossmanuals.net/csound).

if anyone can contribute anything: welcome! please contact me off-list.

if anyone has any suggestions what should be corrected, or what is
missing, please let us discuss here.

flossmanuals have a nice chat tool, so if other authors want to join us
online, this would be nice.

thanks -

	joachim

I have been reading the FLOSS manual, noticed some misspellings and a few confusing information. Where do I log in to the floss chat?

Subject[Csnd] Re: csound floss manual: next release
I'm reading the manual everyday (learning CS) and it's a wonderful source of
information (the only source that i know, well not including the csound
book). Since i'm new to CS and pretty new to programming in general, i find
that some examples are pretty difficult to figure out (more-so because the
manual is not structured to be a step by step kind of thing), i get the
general idea, but the details are harder. I think more *comments* in the
examples would help, though i understand that many examples are from the
csound manual and it would probably be a big undertaking not worth the time.

In any case, i enjoy reading it and am eternally grateful to all the people
who make it happen.

There is no shortage of people on this list to help you if you find some things complicated. Never be too shy to ask.

Hi,

I think you mean the Reference Manual which not ideal to start with. Joachim means the FLOSS manual which is a much better resource to learn Csound.

Also remember that you can contribute with changes, if you have any, let us know and we can check them in or ask John for write access (or wait until the migration to github is done and do a pull request).

Cheers,
Andrés
