I found a bug related to chnset. I tested on Windows7 with 5.11d. Here's a simple csd to show what's wrong: http://old.nabble.com/file/p27628968/chnstring.csd chnstring.csd The performance hangs on the chnset call. |

It appears to be fixed in 5.12, as the CSD does not hang here (OSX). Victor On 17 Feb 2010, at 19:23, dp51 wrote: > > I found a bug related to chnset. I tested on Windows7 with > 5.11d. I just ran the csd on OSX 10.4 with 5.10d and 5.11.1d with no hangs. This is probably a Windows specific bug and may exist in the upcoming 5.12 release for Windows. Can someone with a 5.12 build for Windows please test? Yes, this csd, as well as the one I am using chnset, both work fine on 10.5 OS X. Best, Jeremy

OK, so maybe the bug is specific to Windows and Linux? I wish I had the time to build and debug the latest from CVS. The last time I tried to compile Csound on Windows, it took me like 3 days to get it right. Steven should be able to tell. I wish I could help, but my Windows computers are more or less defunct by now. It seems to be a problem on Linux too. I've committed a fix. It looks like chnset was using CsoundSpinLock twice instead of using a Lock and Unlock. I'm not sure how long this bug has been there. I tested here and the example csd seems to be working now. On Wed, Feb 17, 2010 at 5:47 PM, Victor Lazzarini |

:) Glad to help! To recap, what are the other outstanding bugs? There the line continuation "\" issue and something with escaped characters in strings, and there's the issues with assignments (init, = ) that was reported by Rene. Is there anything else? I think we may need to wait on John to come back to help out with those. (Last I emailed with him he mentioned being back Friday) On Wed, Feb 17, 2010 at 7:55 PM, dp51 |
