Hi All,

To get a better sense of Csound usage, I've setup a short 2 question
questionaire here:

If you could spend a minute to check it out and indicate what OS you
are using and what method of installation you are using, that'd be
very helpful.  Hopefully this information can better inform us all to
figure out how we can improve things.

I will give it a few days and will report back the results!

This is a good idea, but people will install in several different
ways. I use the Windows installer to test it, the Ubuntu package to
test that, and I self-compile on both Windows and Linux.

As long as you're setting up questionnaires, how about adding?...

How do you use csound:

rendering audio
generating MIDI
analyzing audio
algorithmic composition
other

How do you render audio:

real-time
soundfile
other

What kind of music do you make:

"tape music"
computer music plus performer
interactive computer music
other

What other software do you use with Csound to produce music (might be
too many)...

VST host (sequencer, hard disk recorder, notation)
Pure Data
Max/MSP
blue
Cecilia
Common Music
other

This isn't exactly the most scientifically accurate data, but it still may
be of some us. Here is the break down of people visiting The Csound Blog
since October 2009 by operating system:

OS, Visits by Click, Visits %
----
Windows, 1830, 47.54%
Macintosh, 1533, 39.83%
Linux, 453, 11.77%

Under 1%:
----
iPhone, Android, FreeBSD, iPod, NetBSD, OpenBSD, Playstation Portable, Unix

Music I made involving Csound has been:

Performed in concert or recital
Posted for online distribution
Published as a CD or other physical sound recording

So far, with 31 respondents, the data indicates that the Windows is
the most used, followed closely by Linux, and Mac OSX a good bit
behind in 3rd.

I will wait for more replies before posting the complete results.
