Dear list! While eagerly awaiting the surely spectacular app to be from Dr B's laboratories, is there any editor with csound syntax highlighting that runs on an iPad? There is the Textastic app, which apparently allows custom TextMate defs, so if there are such for csound I suppose that might work? Best regards, Anders |

Haven't heard anything about one already, I'd imagine you'd have to create one yourself. Would be nice for other users if you did ;) On 7 May 2013 16:32, Anders Genell |

I haven't used it myself, but there is VIM for the iPad. There may be a way to install the Csound plugins, which include the syntax highlighting. On Tue, May 7, 2013 at 12:01 PM, Rory Walsh <rorywalsh@ear.ie> wrote: Haven't heard anything about one already, I'd imagine you'd have to |

Hi Anders, I made a syntax highlighter for Csound 5 and SublimeText 2 some time ago, using TextMate compatible format (tmLanguage). Unfortunately, the syntax file doesn't seem to work by itself in the Textastic app, and you may have to create a full package (tmBundle) using TextMate. Hope this helps...

Oooh! That is very promising! I'll see what a novice as myself can achieve... Thank you very much! Regards, /Anders

Just to follow up: I imported the tmlanguage and the comments into a new TextMate bundle which I exported and imported to textastic on my iPad using my dropbox account and this guide: http://www.textasticapp.com/v3/manual/lessons/How_can_I_add_my_own_syntax_definitions_and_themes.html
(Note! Use TextMate1 - Textmate2 does not export bundles) I now have some csound syntax highlighting on my iPad! Thank you again Takahiko!! Get the zipped bundle here
Regards, Anders ps. The highlighting seem to miss some opcodes and declaration of new k-, a-, i- and g-variables but this still makes the code so much mode readable!
