Subject[Csnd] Fw: MemoryBook app
not csound-specific, but i wanted anyway to forward to the list this
announcement i received from a very dear friend: brad garton, director of
the electronic music studio at columbia university.

it's an e-book/app, with text, graphics and algoritmically-generated
music. see the description below, i found it very beautiful. i guess it's
very personal, but i hope those of you who don't know brad personally will
also enjoy it.

original message follows.

----------------------------
Today I am announcing the public release of "MemoryBook", an interactive
text/music/graphics application for iPads and Android tablets (Kindle Fire
HD/HDX readers in particular). From the app description:

"The "MemoryBook" is a recollection of memories, but memories enhanced by
music and graphics. Past stories act as a springboard for random
speculations about life, memory, existence, all that fun stuff. The music
and graphics are algorithmically-generated within the app. They are
synchronized with the text at any point (and no matter what reading
speed). Essentially it is a 'book with a soundtrack'."

for links to the Apple App store and the Amazon App store to download it.
I also have a 'standalone' Macintosh app available. Windows version
coming soon.

Note: Apologies in advance for my e-mail blitz. I decided to try to
'spam' this around as much as I could, hoping to get a few more than
the 20-30 people who would normally look at this (and 10 of those are
probably my mom. :-)). I still hope someday to break even on my Apple
Developer fee. So... pass this along! Tell your friends, your family,
the random people you meet! Write good reviews! And I hope you do
actually enjoy the "MemoryBook".
