[Csnd] Cabbage forum login/multiple instances

I tried to login to the Cabbage forum, got a new password, but could not login. It complained about exceeding the maximum number of attempts. Answering the captcha did not work... What I wanted to ask: would it be possible to launch multiple instances of Cabbage? On OS X this did not work. It would be great to have multiple Cabbage windows, say controlled by OSC or so... I've never had any problem launching multiple instances on Linux and Windows. I'm not sure about OSX however but I can't think why it wouldn't work. I won't be able to check it till I'm back in my office on Monday. I'm not sure why it wouldn't let you log in? What is your forum username and I can see if I can reset something for you in the mod panel. On 13 September 2014 12:44, zappfinger |

I can't seem to do anything in the mod panel regarding your account. Can you try again and see if it works? If not I'll search the phpbb forums to see if there is anything I can do. On 13 September 2014 13:45, zappfinger |

Yes, you can. Just make manual copies of the app bundle and rename them to whatever and then you can launch as many instances as you have copies. Thanks Bernt. Btw Richard, there is now native OSC support in Cabbage
through a new oscserver class which is setup in the Cabbage section of
the code:
oscsocket socket("127.0.0.1", 7000), channels("message1", "message2" ...)
You can then access the message using plain old chngets:
kData1 chnget "message1"
kData2 chnget "message2"
The idea here was to keep it as simple as possible. I've attached two
csd files. Launch the osc receive one first. You can then launch the
send example to take control of the first.

Great idea, Rory! I got both instances running (after downloading the latest version of Cabbage). However, I see nothing happening with the server, there are no (error) messages either... Looking in the code for CabbageOSCsend, I see a similar line as in the
server:
oscserver socket("127.0.0.1", 7000), channels("osc1", "osc2")
Is that correct? Should it not be a client connecting to the server?
Richard

Hmm, does not work. Now they both have the line 'oscserver socket'... Richard -- View this message in context: http://csound.1045644.n5.nabble.com/Cabbage-forum-login-multiple-instances-tp5737478p5737496.html Sent from the Csound - General mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Not sure what can be wrong. Just worked out of the box for me. Both in Cabbage and in a host (tested in Ableton Live). These are the exported plugins that worked on my machine: On Sat, Sep 13, 2014 at 10:40 PM, Rory Walsh <rorywalsh@ear.ie> wrote:
